深夜1時にアメリカから来てくれたゲストさんがとても困ってました。
羽田空港に着いたけれど、自分のお金を日本円に換金できなかったとのこと。
どうやら、換金サービスが深夜0時に閉まってしまったようです。
使えるのは自分のクレジットカードだけだったため、羽田空港からゲストハウスまでの道のりもタクシーで来たとのこと。
タクシー料金も深夜料金含めて2,000円を超えてしまいました。
私たちのゲストハウスでは、原則海外の通貨を両替などはしていません。
しかし、このままでは翌日も両替できる場所まで高額なタクシーを利用しなければなりません。
翌朝向かわれる羽田空港へのアクセスは電車だったら310円で到着します。
タクシーなら、およそ1,500円。
電車なら310円。
ここはマニュアル対応や基本ルールを遵守するよりも、お客様の課題を解決することが先決と解釈し、ポケットマネーを取り出し、
１ドル札3枚と310円を交換！
翌朝5時、ゲストさんは無事に電車で羽田空港へ行かれました。
その時に、喜んでくれたゲストの笑顔がとても素敵でした！
ルールや遵守することは確かに大切ですが、それよりももっと大切なことがあることを体験できた1日でした。
交換した１ドル札は、お守りと、ゲストとの思い出して今も財布にしまっています。
お金で買えない価値の提供、今後も継続していきたいと思います。
